DMSA Hosts the 3rd National Wheelchair Handball Championship

From January 26–28, 2024, Divyaang Myithri Sports Academy, together with the Handball Association of India, hosted the 3rd Wheelchair Handball National Championship in Mumbai.

Six teams traveled in from Pune, Belagavi, Tuticorin, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chandigarh — the widest geographic spread the championship has seen, reflecting how quickly the sport is growing its footprint across India. With wheelchair handball on track to make its Paralympic debut at Los Angeles 2028, hosting a championship of this scale was a meaningful step in preparing athletes for the international stage.

After three days of competition, Belagavi and Pune advanced to the final. Belagavi came out on top, taking the title of Champions of Wheelchair Handball 2024 with a final score of 27–13.
